About me
I am an experienced public and private school educator with a love of teaching, children’s books, origami creations, soccer, board games, and brain teasers!
I started my career as a German language teacher in the Midwest. After coming east, I worked as an environmental educator for elementary school students in Boston Public Schools. I subsequently taught German, social studies, and history over the course of 20 years at Salem High School. My classroom lessons were regularly adapted so they would be accessible for students with learning disabilities and for English Language Learners.
More recently, I have worked as a classroom aide for students with disabilities at the German International School - Boston, working with elementary school age students. I also led a class in the school’s afterschool program, and have taught German to children at the German Saturday School in Lexington. I am currently a tutor at the Village School in Marblehead Public Schools, for 4th - 6th graders, and assist in the school’s after-school sports program.
I am married with two children in their 20s. I like to watch birds, kayak, read, and play chess. I live in Swampscott and can meet your student at their home or in a library. I will be arriving via bicycle (year-round)!
